Presenting IOTA: Inventions of the Abstract, Fred Deakin and Nick Franglen take time out from their Lemon Jelly day jobs to create a new project exploring the relationship between abstract pattern animation and loop based musical experiments, inspired visually by the Op Art of the Sixties & Seventies and musically by various ambient soundscapes of the same era. 
 
The elusive duo of Franglen and Deakin were childhood friends but did not form down-tempo electronic act Lemon Jelly until 1997. 

Before this, Franglen composed music for adverts and occasionally for film and TV soundtracks, he also contributed his keyboard and drum programming skills to projects by Björk, Primal Scream and Blur. 

Meanwhile Deakin's background was as a club DJ (the wacky "Impotent Fury") but he also worked as a designer and illustrator for magazines such as The Face and Nova and indeed, his bold designs grace the sleeves of all Lemon Jelly's releases.    

This World Premiere performance of their hour long piece, designed specifically for the IMAX environment, will be performed and improvised live by the duo; their intention is that it'll be a "full-on" experience!  So hold tight!!
