| Described by US magazine XLR8R as "Light years beyond the gallery realm of
masters like Bill Viola", Addictive TV are leading audiovisual artists, film
remixers and producers, best known for their dynamic live shows where they
audiovisually rework everything from Hollywood films to cult classics and iconic music promos.
Defying cinematic convention by applying audiovisual sampling techniques to create a new cinematic syntax, Addictive TV were the first artists to officially
remix a US studio movie with the internet viral for New Line Cinema's Take
the Lead starring Antonio Banderas. As well as being Optronica co-founders with producer Nick Clarke,
Cinefeel's Francoise Lamy and the BFI, Addictive TV's Tolly and Graham Daniels have twice been voted No#1 VJs in the World in the last three years by the readers of DJ Magazine. Addictive TV also produced the ITV1 series Mixmasters.
Performing internationally, criss-crossing the art and club worlds, the duo
have played in settings as diverse as the Pompidou Centre in Paris and the National Theatre in London to Tokyo superclub Womb and San Francisco's Mighty. Events and festivals include Glastonbury, Siggraph in the US and Denmark's Roskilde.
Playing at Optronica as one half of an exclusive IMAX double-bill of film
remixing and live cinema, which also features director Peter Greenaway's live VJ
show, Addictive TV will present a special World Cinema remix set of new and
recent work including 70's gangster flick Get Carter and the official remix
of the forthcoming anime extravaganza Tekkon Kinkreet. |
