How can you not attend something with a name
as cool as Optronica? THE GUARDIAN
Optronica's cutting-edge fusion of music and cinema
offers a dazzling vision of the future. TIME OUT
Brain-child of audiovisual artists/producers Addictive TV and new-media curators Cinefeel, both who have championed live AV and the art of the VJ for over a decade, Optronica is the London based visual music festival organised in collaboration with the British Film Institute.
The festival features live audiovisual performances, screenings and related special presentations from a whole host of audiovisual artists, film-makers and music acts, all exploring different aspects of audio/visual fusion and showing how today the long tradition of visual-music has expanded to include the wide range of styles and practices we now see.
Optronica 2007 was huge success with all the shows at the BFI IMAX cinema completely sold out ! The festival featured a whole host of fantastic artists including Fred Deakin & Nick Franglen of Lemon Jelly, Trevor Jackson, Peter Greenaway, Addictive TV, as well as Speedy J & Scott Pagano, Ryoichi Kurokawa, Rechenzentrum, Reactable, Semiconductor and EBN's Gardner Post and Brian Kane.
